On November 22, 2004, MDG Global Watch was officially launched in the hall of the UN Secretariat building, an event that coincided with the opening of the organization's exhibition on "Millennium Development Goals: Making it Happen," which lasted until December 3.

The launching also consisted of a panel discussion, moderated by Ambassador Mr. Denis Dangue Réwaka, Permanent Representative of the Gabonese Republic to the United Nations.
